  • Hmmm... Couldn't resist checking out what has happened to the no.1 most hated band. Didn't realize they are still around (hmmm... I think I heard that one more than a couple of times when people ask me who my favorite band is)... Lo' and behold on their website....

I am almost tempted to suggest that this could have been a novel idea to mark a certain 20th anniversary...

BUT I certainly don't want to join the bitchin' that's been happening around here at the Porch.
  • While the '90s will no doubt be remembered -- at least in music terms -- for the emergence of Nirvana and its no-frills grunge rock that spawned a million imitators, the decade wasn't only about the Seattle scene and Kurt Cobain's tragic life and death.

This is such BS "tragic life and death." in my book tragic life is someone who has nothing not a millionare drug addicted rock star(not in my book, but i know other adore and make him some kind of hero). Tragic death, join the service and go to see your friends and children killed, and women beat to death for not covering their faces or speaking to other men(seen that, it is Tragic)or have family member or friend killed in DWI accident, that is tragic, shooting your self in head when u got it all is just stupid and shameful!Sorry to get off topic, but that always sets me off!

I still remember vividly that the No. 1 band on this list played a show at Key Arena in Seattle the same day Pearl Jam played the Memorial Stadium during the Yield tour in July '98(the two venues are both located at the Seattle Center). Definately an interesting crowd mix when both concerts got out. Ed even made mention of it during one of the encore's...

  • The #1 band is probably one of the few 90's pop bands that I actually have respect for.
