I was in a Damien Rice mood today and remembered how talented this guy is all over again. Both O and 9 are masterpieces. I see he released his last LP in 2006. Anyone know of plans for a new album?

    been a fan of his since I saw Volcano on Vh1 way back in 2003. Was a watershed moment for me. 0 and 9 are masterpieces indeed, especially 0. But he did a 10 days in barcelona thing a few years back, traveling in barcelona, creating one song each day. nothing ever came of it. there have been reports here and there from labels and head honchos that he is in the studio and recording. nothing concrete though.

    If he wrote 0 and 9 about pain and love, one can imagine how heartbreaking and beautiful and sad any new material will be as it will be the first album post lisa breakup.

    damien's a genius as far as im concerned.

    I think it was a UK press article that talked about him being the singer songwriter, all the other singer songwriters are jealous of and long to be. i think this is remarkably accurate

    additionally, you forgot how talented damien is? How is that possible? The guy has been off the radar for sure, but respect where respect is due, friend.

    Yeah, I guess he kind of fell off of my radar. I've been getting my soulful, insanely talented singer songwriter fix from Ray Lamontagne lately. He's a little more prolific. By the way, have you seen any of their collaboration? Check this out.

    i love his songwriting. and he's awesome live.

    i remember reading on his site about he & some friends taking a 10 day roadtrip to Spain last year. if memory serves, his plan was to write a new song on each one of those 10 days, and that would turn into his next album. i just checked his site, though & didn't see that post anymore....so maybe he scrapped that plan? either way, i hope he puts out a new record soon. there was this little tidbit of new material info:

    Damien to record & film new material in front of an Icelandic audience in November
    Damien travels to Iceland early November to record and film new material in front of an Icelandic audience. The recording and filming session will take place in Reykjavik, in a undisclosed space which aims to create an intimate setting for Damien to perform his new material in front of live audience. He will also be playing some material from earlier albums as well as answering questions from the audience. There will be four exclusive recording sessions, over two days (4th & 5th November), and only 90 tickets will be available for each session

    He really hasn't done much, aside from some random benefits & this song he did for a film "When The Dragon Swallowed The Sun"...my buddy was there & took this video when he performed it live after the screening of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An5LjwTjLRk

    Great song - really like it. New Lisa is equally awkward on stage. Lisa's solo stuff wasn't bad - saw her live, they put on a good set & she was really friendly afterward.

    Last month, at the end of the Milan's show, he said a "see you next year" which was supposed to be trusty (... and true :) ) so maybe he's coming back here very soon too.

    Really want to see him again on this tour and was shut out of the recent Chicago show. So I have repeatedly joined his email list multiple times and I still do not get any of the official emails or presale codes. I added the list email to my address book like they suggest and still nothing.

    Have others received any pre-sale email codes yet? I do not know what to do.
    No time to be void or save up on life, you gotta spend it all.

    Fantastic show. The man was in great spirits, joked around, was incredibly casual and humble. And of course, just exuding talent with every note he struck with his voice or guitar. I took a video of Trusty and True which I'll be posting tomorrow.

    Heads-up... Go in on a phone or tablet, and use the Ticketmaster app. Make sure that your pre-sale code is already copied into your clipboard, so you can just paste it and proceed. That was my technique both times, and I just scored another pair of front row tickets :D
