I'm in Illinois.

I voted mostly Libertarian except for Republicans for Governor, State Senate, and State Rep. I voted for the Democrat Sheriff, and I refused to vote for either the D or R for US Rep. There were no other candidates running and write-ins were not allowed.

Although the D for US Rep voted for Obamacare the R refused to answer my questions on his FB page, though he did answer many others. I simply wanted him to reply to the Campaign for Liberty questionnaire and he did not. So even though I wanted to vote for him I did not. Gotta be able to look at myself in the mirror, must have some principles.

who is there to vote for really?

    i haven't seen anyone i want there

there aren't even any good write ins

seems kinda useless to go vote for just anyone

when there's no one running who is going to make a difference

hard to know what to do

can't change things if we don't vote

then again, are we really changing things if we do?

at least this time around in this race?

i wish there was a None of The Above on our ballots...

    Is there?

    I voted against all incumbents.

If it was a 1 person race, I didn't vote if the person was an incumbent.

I only voted for people who weren't currently in office.

ya the only good write in i know is Godfather and he's not in PA.
So let's see, who to write in?
Eddie..but he's got way too much on his plate.
Maybe Chadwick? hmmm...now there's an idea.
    Talk about waffling heheheeeeee.
Yep, I think I'll go with Chadwick.
Or Eyed...after all he has much experience with wildlife and beasts so
He should be able to deal with politicians no problem
Tremors can totally handle the speech writing, dancing around all the issues like a real pro
and Chadwick's job is is to thoroughly confuse them all
    That's a good team.
There we go..got my vote all ready to go now. :D
And Godfather in the next 2 for Pres.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a "none of the above" option? If the majority on local elections voted none of the above, it would be scrapped and have to be done all over again with new candidates.

In my low-tech voting precinct, I was able to leave some races blank if I wanted to.

I had the ability to write in and wrote "Anyone but the incumbent" for the county exec. I also did a lot of research this time and my voting pattern was a zig zag... Democratic candidate for congress, Republican candidate for Mayor, etc.

  • With the amount of crap coming from both sides of the aisle in politics, it makes me wonder what would happen if there was a real-life Bulworth out there.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

i will be voting none of the above for governer, senate and us reps and state reps. i will be voting straight republican for any cook county position, including county commissioner, sheriff and board president. i refuse to vote chicago democrat for anything.

what? accepting non-negotiable offers for votes (i thought that was how it's done all the time lol!) or just writing in clowns to rival the clowns that are already there?
either way, does anyone EVER take me seriously? ha! I think NOT ;)

In Illinois if no one files a declaration of intent to be a write in candidate for a race, there is no write in line made available on the ballot for that race. Someone has until 61 days prior to the election to notify the election official that they want to be a write in candidate. If no one files to be a write in for an office, the election official doesn't have to put a write in line. This is designed to cut down on ballot length.

I assume that's what he means.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Rick Perry for Gov, he's nothing but a used car salesman. And Bill White is completely incompetent. I found myself voting Lib.
