  • "Sign Of The Times" is a good starting point.
  • Yep, that one. And Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day and Parade. OK, Lovesexy too.
During that 5 year stretch Prince was on top of the world.

Alternatively, a good starting point is his The Hits/The B-Sides boxset. Yes, it is a compilation, but that CD of B-sides is essential too.

3121 for newer and I always love Dirty Mind. Are you looking for rock or jazz/R&B? What they said is a great start.
Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.... (Voltaire)

Start with 1999, then Purple Rain.

I've always been a singles fan of his. The only album I actually have and would listen to all the way through is Purple Rain. I have his greatest hits collection and he's made a lot of really great songs over the years but his albums are also full of a lot of filler.

We saw him in the round...solo...it was an amazing show in 2004. They gave out free cd's, his 'Musicology'
I liked that and I too have greatest hits albums.
