Tinnitus...

Still going one week after attending a community event with live bands...
And my right ear (where I can hear mild ringing) seems duller like it is blocked.
Worried here because I've never had this last thing long before and I've been to places with noise.
Anyone else had these symptoms last over a week then had them go away?
I had a minor procedure under GA back in June to insert grommets into my ear drums to help clear fluid trapped behind the ear drum.
I think maybe because my ear drums are perforated due to the grommets I am more prone to noise damage.
Friken worried here that I've damaged my hearing. :( :|
The ringing is annoying when I go to bed and try fall asleep.
I only recently went to my specialist for a post op check up and hearing test and it all came out normal.

  • Just be real careful with your ears, dude. If you work at places with noise, get airplugs, where them when you need to, even if people think your silly. When me & couple of other guys play music 2gether I cannot even be in the same room as the drummer, he's basically deaf. Your hearing is pretty fragile and when you lost it it'll never come back. Got the same ringing in my ears, drives me insane sometimes.
Anyway, if your tinnitus turns out to be permanent, I heard that acupuncture suppose to help. It doesnt get lost frequenses back, but it stops the ringing. //peace
  • Go see your hearing specialist again and tell them what's going on. And unfortunately there is no cure for tinnitus only ways to cope with it. And always wear hearing protection when you are exposed to loud sounds, including live music.
Another habit says it's in love with you
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self
  • Mine's like an ocean... Gotten used to it and work in a noisy environment so that helps. But for sleeping, I have an industrial fan right next to the bed... Helps a ton. Sorry to hear (no pun intended, well maybe a little) you have been suffering with it too.

It's driving me nuts. It's gotten worse the past 2 yrs. I can hardly sleep since we saw Lifehouse in concert 2 wks ago and Brad 2 wks prior. The earplugs didn't help either.

Tinnitus can be caused by other health problems too.
