Stardust and Fairytales

the sand blew hard
against naked skin
the ocean breeze
cool on the tongue
the two of us stood on Black Rock Beach
amazed we had it all to ourselves
hands roamed,…
fingers following curves
and drawing outlines
on wet bodies
wounded by love,
overcome with lust
our reward would have to wait,…

the lighthouse went up in flames
sending waves of heat
across our flesh
melting the fillings in our teeth
eyes turning to blue lava
seeping from our sockets
while stardust fell from the heavens
and children gathered in circles
to tell ancient stories
of young tragic love
and crying over our remains
for evermore
no longer believing in stardust and fairytales
Peace, Love.
