JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A north Florida mother has pleaded guilty to shaking her baby to death after the boy's crying interrupted her game on Facebook.

She told officials she shook the boy, smoked a cigarette to compose herself and then shook him again Alexandra V. Tobias pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Wednesday and remains jailed.

The Florida Times-Union reports that she told investigators she was angered because the boy was crying while she was playing the game FarmVille.

She will be sentenced in December. State guidelines call for 25 to 50 years, but a prosecutor said it could be shorter than that.

now THIS merits a WTFFFF
someone who would shake their child to death in two sessions, no less, would have exhibited this behavior at some juncture of their child's little life. The article is on msnmc.com, she looks about 20-25

I here you on that...seems like an awful lot of the crazy stuff happens down there. I have a good amount of family and friends that live in the Sunshine State, but it's been pretty bad for the last several years in Florida.

It should get crazier when someone shakes that damn mother to death -- not for killing her baby, but for playing that godawful FARMVILLE!

  • how could anyone harm an innocent child, never mind their OWN. I wouldn't lay a fucking hand on either of my daughters. EVER.

when they cry, sure I get frustrated, but most of the time I just hug them that much tighter because I want them to stop crying for THEM, not for ME.

yes, the intent would have found its way to this mother at some point be it farmville or some other annoyance
    from her innocent child
again how did she not get first degree after admitting she took time from shaking her child to smoke a fucking cigarette and proceeded to shake him the fuck to death. if the first shaking was not premeditated, the second session sure as fuck was.

there's no benefit to the accused to plead guilty if the charge remains the same. the DA probably gave a plea deal based on:

    1) proving intent for 1st degree isn't a slam dunk
    2) averting a trial saves a boatload of taxpayer money

I read in another artice that she shook her baby and put him on the couch to smoke a cigarette. Apparently the dog jumped on the couch and knocked the baby on the floor causing him/her to cry. Bitch then picked the baby back up and shook him/her to death. She should get the fucking death penalty if you ask me. I know Florida has that.

  • Although I'm not the most religious person, it's stories like this that make me think there must be a Heaven and that baby is there now.

The immense sadness that would be if that child only lived to die and then nothing else. It can't be that way.
