Foot steps heard miles down the road
the old man walks along with the lost and lonely souls.
Old man can you hear me calling your name
can you see my shadow on the pebbles in your hands
old man can you see me.
His body is tired and his mind is weak
from days of travel on the old dirt road
Gimmi some water just a drink and I will tell you my story
if I can rest my feet.
He talked of his travels and the burning desert heat
He closed his eyes as he took another drink
and said
I've walked a lonely mile with the lost and lonely souls
I've seen the old man and asked him..
Old man can you hear me calling your name
can you see my shadow on the pebbles in your hands
old man can you see me I've been following you
with these lost and lonely souls.
I see you and hear your questions to me
We've walked this lonely mile in the burning desert heat
would you like to share a lonely drink and break the bread of decadence
with the lost and lonely souls under the burning desert sun.
I'll drink your wine I'll break your bread in the burning desert heat.
Old man can you hear me calling your name
can you see my shadow on the pebbles in your hands
old man can you see me.
