...when the Tea Party candidates end up being really no different than the idiots that they replace?

good question...
as I see it, all the worlds ills will be solved by the teabaggers and their ideas...
we'll be living in utopia...with a "small gov't"...whatever the hell that means...
edit:
for those of you who don't know ... this tea party thing has already played itself out in canada ... they were our reform party of yesteryear ... they were quite popular in our western provinces because they based themselves there and worked off a divisive agenda that basically said that the rest of canada mainly quebec and ontario were screwing them over ... they never made many inroads nationally because often their elected leaders and their reps would make ridiculous comments during election time ... well, then they hit jackpot when they brought in a smart and intelligent frontman in stephen harper ... he took a devastated social conservative party and unified the right so to speak ... he micromanaged all communications from his office and after years of forming his dictatorship - he managed to reign in everyone ... he's now won two minority gov'ts with basically a combination of neo-cons and tea partyers ...
this will happen in the US ... as soon as they can annoint a leader that intelligent moderate republicans can vote for ... they are in like flynn ...
Scary
As soon as they try and boot President Obama from office, remember their slogan....
*We want our country back* Then all will be quiet as nothing else will change.
Peace
*MUSIC IS the expression of EMOTION.....and that POLITICS IS merely the DECOY of PERCEPTION*

*The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite INSANE*....Nikola Tesla(a man who shaped our world of electricity with his futuristic inventions)
Gotcha. I must have misread.
it depends on what you consider scary ...
considering as a minority - he has plunged us into a huge defecit (say what you will about the global financial crisis but the enormous tax cuts - that have not really benefited many are the key to why we went from a $10 billion surplus to our largest defecit in decades) ... also, he's done a lot of shady things that most people do not consider top of mind ... almost every independent board that oversees everything from funding for international aid to human rights - he's basically, stacked the board and brought in people who fit his ideology and basically made these independent non-partisan arms very partisan ... he's lied about everything including the long form census amongst many others ... and worst of all ... he's sabotaged any efforts to combat climate change at the global level ... internationally speaking, we no longer have a voice ... we used to be a country that people could go to for a moderate compassionate voice but these days ... people just laugh at canada because we are bunch of snakes in the grass ...
75% ?
Godfather.
obama became president at the worst possible time ... all the fraud and stupid decisions of admins past have basically all come out and he's paying the price because people are too stupid to realize that much of the problems the country is facing were actually caused by other administrations ...
obama's pretty much the poor black janitor left to clean up the white guys' mess
wait, was that racist of me???
Wash me in the blood of Rock & Roll
someone somewhere will find that comment racist ...
I think everyone is aware of the past admin. but like every president before him they are all expected to clean up the mess no matter who made it and when they promise to do that while they're campaigning and do not or can not then the people start looking for a new way to change things and a new person for the job...it's too late to complain about Bush or anybody else before Obama, the people that voted for obama were mis-led into thinking he would change the world and fix Americas problems, bottom line is 'DON'T MAKE PROMISES YOU CAN'T KEEP" and they all do it everyone one of them! so obama is no different then the last guy that tried to do this job and has no breaks coming because the past admins left such a dirty mess for him to clean up ..that's what he signed up for right ? just my opinion.
well ... for one i just want to reiterate that i am not a fan of obama, the democratic party nor the two-party system ...
but the reality is that if it was so easy to fix america's problems ... there wouldn't actually be those problems ... what ails america is deeply rooted and basically requires everyone to do their part ...
obama's main problem is that he operates as a political realist ... he knows that he just can't get passed things that ultimately need to get done because people really aren't interested in looking in the mirror to fix the problems instead they want it to magically be fixed ...
like your article stated ... the economy is the main issue ... well ... i'm not sure how voting in more republicans is gonna fix the problem ...
I agree I don't think it's so much of a party race, it's more of a "who can we trust to make ground on our problems" and that is so blurry I can't see a candidate that we can really trust to do these jobs.
Godfather.
well ... you have to first realize that your current form of gov't is beholden to corporations ... that's the first and most fundamental thing that has to change ... you need to vote in people that have the people's interests at stake and not some lobbyist for some corporation ...
DING DING DING...winner winner chicken dinner! Unfortunately this is almost impossible in either party. These people have made politics their profession, and that is the very core of the problem. It was never meant to be a profession.
