We knew that halliburton was in bed with bp and shared culpability for the hell unleashed in the gulf of mexico, but apparently some study has officialized it.
And to read out loud that both were allerted to a report that the cement on the deep horizon well was "unstable", yet neither chose to act on this information is nauseating.
Plus BP chose to use "fewer stability rings on the well piping and seawater instead of heavier mud to plug the well until it was to be used for production."
SAY WHAT?
fewer stability rings
FEWER stability rings
WTF
and plug it with seawater
i'm sorry are you plugging something with fucking water?
i'm sure they intended for the water "pressure" to hold an UNTAPPED fucking oil well, instead of the heavy mud which they ended up doing anyway FAR too little and way too FAR fucking late.
fuck 'em if they can't take a joke

    unbelievable....
it just goes to show that corporations will cut corners even on things like this to save a little money. it is all about GREED. it is as if they think "use the cheep materials, nothing will ever go wrong so everything will be alright."

absolutely sickening. at least bp lost a few billion bucks in all of this. they should be banned from doing any drilling and doing business in the US. had they used appropriate materials and the proper number of security rings this disaster might have been prevented. has haliburton been involved in anything that they are not at least partially responsible for fucking things up???

I was reading a National Geo from a couple months ago that was a special issue on the Spill. BP had time on their mind the entire time down in the gulf and cut many corners in order to get to the oil as fast as possible. They forsaked the safety of all their rig workers and constantly did not follow procedure the entire time, before the spill as well as after the spill. In plugging up the spill, they were still under time limits and they did not seal according to procedure until they absolutely had too, due to nothing else working.

in all seriousness though, they have a lot of making up to do here to a lot of people in the gulf area, not to mention the environmental damage. This clearly shows direct neglect and disregard for human and environmental safety.
