there's a maintenance worker at my office who has the most offensive odor about him it should be outlawed. i've smelled some pretty lousy BO in my life, but this guy takes the cake. first of all, not that this really matters, but he's got white hair, buzz cut---complete with a small pony tail on the back. so, he's quite odd looking for starters. we don't know his name so we just refer to him as axle.......anyway the smell is a rare combination of stale cigarettes, the worst BO known to man, mixed in with some sort of exotic spice. if you get stuck in the break room or bathroom with him--forget it. your clothes will stink for weeks. i was walking down to the cafe today and he was waaaay ahead in the hallway. probably 30 yards or more. i mean this is a huge hallway.....and i could still smell the fucker. it is uncanny.

don't people know they smell this bad? wouldn't a friend or family member inform him of his foul scent? i don't see how someone can go through life not realizing they smell that bad...know anyone like this?

why choose to work in an office building filled with hundreds of people though? why not live out in the wild with people like eyed?

I worked with a woman once, a total bitch, she had the worst b.o. Turns out she had no sense of smell, some medical thing. Her attitude was - I can't smell myself, so I don't care. Why should I use deodorant? She would say that to us and we would say, well, maybe you should think about everybody else... she didn't give a shit.

I know a guy who used to smell like old hot dogs only one heck of a lot stronger than those..but that was the basis of the aroma. We told him about it a zillion times...at first nicely, after a while not so much. He laughed every time...refused to believe. I bought him some clinical strength deodorant at one point. Met up with him a gain a month or so ago after about a year. Noticed I couldn't smell a thing. So, he must have either listened, or started eating the hot dogs instead of bathing in them. :?

I know your pain. Not in the B.O. sense, but something similar. I work with a guy who is in our Engineering department, which blows my mind because he's an incredibly dull and generally can't follow the traceability on his own work, but I digress. Anyway, the guy possesses a rich odor of what I would describe as moth-balls, fertilizer, and hot human feces. It's putrid. It's repulsive. It's flat out malodorous.

I've never imagined this smell. It's far worse then your typical homeless, bus stop odor.

My wife and I took a train in Munich to the airport. The stench was pretty rough. Sorry German people, it's just the truth.
