Ha....as you can see Nova remains in some people's heads non stop around here even during down times. Beating them is akin to their national championship. It is amusing lol.

Wob---I loved those Tark UNLV squads and, yeah, Rollie stole money out there. JR Rider was fun to watch for a while though.

I'm a Temple Owls graduate and season ticket holder. I went to the East Regionals during my senior year in 1999. Still waiting for a Final Four appearance. I'd take that and a regular season loss to Villanova, and not winning the Big 5, gladly.

Come on...you'd take over winning a "pod?!" lol

How about that Juan PEPE Sanchez. That was a fun team.

Find it hard to believe Temple lost to Nova in '99 though. Those latter Lappas years were rough.

Those Owls were always streaky and could lose at any time. But they played the toughest schedules, played killer D and didn't turn it over. It's feeling like an era we'll never see again, especially after getting crushed (and fucked over by Villanova) in the conference wars.

how come if I go ESPN app > NCAA basketball > leagues, there’s no big 5? are youse guys talking about some league it morphed into or just philly area schools in general?

P.S. my dad went to Penn but the Trumps sure cheapened that brand.
It's an unofficial conference that provides an opportunity for schools in the area to play against a true Blue Blood program once a year.

    Well explained, fellas.

i know juggler is a nova guy. Are the rest of you aligned differently?

”fat rollie massimino” stole a bunch of money from UNLV.
no real alliance to any particular team for me. If I had to pick one it would be Nova though. Dad went to St. Joe's so I do like them as well.

Kudos to LaSalle fans. Played at North Carolina today and they introduced Belichick and LaSalle fans did Eagles chant.

Was kinda surprised to see penn state playing at the palestra today.  Apparently they’ve played there before? Pretty good game against Indiana, too bad they lost.

nova looked real good destroying DePaul the other day.

Penn State has played a Big Ten game the last few years around the same time each year.  Good idea instead of playing on campus with no students.

Nova playing really well.  Hopefully just well enough to keep inNeptune around.  They have UConn on Wednesday

nice win against a top 10 team last night.

Although i can't believe that one dude from UConn missed both free throws towards the end of the game.

Poetic justice as that looked like a clean block by Longino.

Some old school Nova defense at the end of that game.

    Keep it going...

It is funny thinking about all the people who root for Notre Dame who didn't go to school there (never would've gotten in and never would've been able to pay that absurd tuition) and maybe even haven't been to Indiana (not Ireland - that's not where the school is).

Well the Nova fans at least that school is nearby I guess.

If you didn't go to a D1 school and live in PA, I kinda think the Pennsylvania State University should be your college team.

Basketball is different as there are obviously a lot more D1 schools.

With Nova...I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that if you didn't go there and didn't grow up around the school, there are more people who dislike them than like them. I've never considered Nova a bandwagon basketball school like ND is for football...

Owls took down #18 Memphis last night and we stormed the court. A little embarrassing but I'll allow it given all the recent bad times.

Also a ridiculous showing by the refs, who must've needed new whistles after the game. AAC is a horrible conference.

Damn good win but damn that was a long game. Watched the 2nd half. Berry played great.  Way too many whistles though.   Was surprised at the court storming but fuck it let college kids have their fun i say.

Dude you're telling me. At first it seemed like the refs were against us (typical in this Confederate Conference) but eventually it was just like swallow the damn whistles already. They spent literally at least 20 minutes staring at screens. Just the worst.

I'm always weirded out by the fact Temple and St. Joseph's is a non-conference game now. Of course nothing is as strange as Cal-Stanford being an ACC game.
