So it is actually windy in the windy city? I've been there 5 times before and it was never windy.

sounds like a major storm is a brewing. winds are suppose to be steady at 35 with gusts to 55. they are saying this storm could be bigger than the storm that sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald.

most of the windy city name comes from teh blowhard politians

Damn. Yeah, your politicians definitely blow (ours aren't any better though). I love your city, by the way. The one place I could see myself living, other than New England (aka God's country). I'm going out there next summer for a weekend of baseball, beers and fun.

damn it...trying to find box scores from the 89-90 season of the bulls/celtics matchups. it looks like all the games were close with the two teams splitting the season 2-2

i choose that season as it was birds last solid full season and would have been as far into pippens early career as possible so we could see the two closest to prime.

    here we go

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 40CHI.html
    pippen had the better game

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 40BOS.html
    bird had a monster game

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 70CHI.html
both had solid games, bird out scored, but only shot 39% from the field

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 00BOS.html
bird didn't play, Jordan had a monster game.

now, i can't tell who was guarding who, but i don't see bird dominating pippen, or pippen really shutting down bird. but it's a small sample and pippen was still coming into his own.

it's a shame that with everything the internet can do, it can't match up players from different era's.

  • You mean you can't find somewhere that says Jo Noah is a better rebounder than Robert Parish?

I never said that. Noah has improved his game a ton, but has a long way to go to be in Parish's class.
