A new motherboard

I'm thinking of getting a new motherboard for my PC and was looking for suggestions. My current one is around 3 1/2 years old (Dual core - Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00 Ghz). It is pretty much the last thing in my computer I have not updated yet. I do a bit of gaming, lots of torrent downloading and watch a lot of video.

The rest of my setup is:
Nvidea Geforce 9800 GT
2 hard drives: 1) 240 GB Hitachi 2) 1TB WD
2Gb ram DDR2 (533 I think)

What do you think I should get? Price is not my biggest concern, I prefer to buy something more expensive if it is good quality and will last long opposed to cheap and low quality.
Still can't believe I met Mike Mccready at the Guggenheim and got a pic with him!!!!!

Just update the ram . Put 4 gigs in it .

i would just wait computer parts are at floor prices and changing everyday .
Does not sound like u have a bad unit . I am really not sure of two many games that play with two cores .

    Torrents would be your ram

I would try the Dual Channel ram . that way your still just using one channel for speed . :)

    Something like this . Again Like this " http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=3412 "

Problem is, my motherboard only supports a maximum of 2 GB ram.
Things have started to lag recently. For example, I can not watch video if Utorrent is running (It freezes the video for a couple of minutes at some random point). I have also started to have crashes to desktop much more frequently while playing games.
The rest of my setup is stuff I have updated throughout the years, and like I said before, the motherboard is pretty much the only original component left in my PC.

U might want to try something with a quad core then .

I run a quad with 8 gigs . Nothings perfect i still gets hiccups . but other then that it handles a load .

    torrents
    movie
    burning a movie
    defragging

    Handles it all at once

I don't think it would help any game problems u have . Not a big gamer but from what i know not that many games play on more then one core .
