(wrote this listening to pearl jam's little wing/maggot brain cover. one of the best songs to get my creativity going)
ive looked past your eyes
just to see if there's anything inside
that pretty head of yours.
i just wanna know if somehow
some way
i may have snuck myself in
i dont know why ive begun
or why i ever begin
these tracks of thoughts
that only lead to needles and pins .
ive crawled across the dirt
and stones
and navigated through the dust
and the dark
just to get some sort
of reaction.
just claw through the wrapping
to see if maybe by this
particular moment
you may have seen through my hints
and my lines
just to see that we're the same inside.
just to see that we're just one live being.
just to see that the whole world
can burn
to the ground but,
if there was just you and me,
we'd be okay.
we'd manage to live.
we'd survive.
'cause we relate.
'cause we know
just how much the other can take.
we all have our fears and our doubts.
they all create clouds.
but when our clouds collide
the heavens will rain.
the heavens will reign.
love will reign.
neither one of our lives
would be the same.
neither one of us
have to join this game.
we can admire from the outside
