Why would someone not.... want happiness for another?

Why would someone not ....want to show kindness?

Why would someone not ....want another to succeed?

Why would someone not.... want to be encouraging?

Why would someone not... want to be accepting?

Why would someone not.... be generous of spirit?

Generous spirits make a better world.

I’ve noticed a new popular pastime. And that is to take pleasure in criticizing others. Have you noticed it? The way we’ve all become generally intolerant of the other guy? We sit around and stew about what someone else is doing or not doing, what someone else has or doesn’t have, what someone else believes or doesn’t believe. We even speculate about motives. In short, we lack compassion for each other, and that is giving us a bad attitude … It hurts us. It gets in the way of finding our own joy and contentment.

When we become so negative about things that are irrelevant to us, we are unable to seek the positive things that are truly relevant. There is no room, no motivation, and no energy left to find the fireflies in our own lives.

 I think it's related somehow...
A passage from Jon Krakauer's book Into The Wild:
On July 2, McCandless finished reading Tolstoy's "Family Happiness", having marked several passages that moved him: He was right in saying that the only certain happiness in life is to live for others... I have lived through much and now I think I have found what is needed for happiness. A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbour - such is my idea of happiness. And then, on top of all that, you for a mate and children, perhaps - what more can the heart of a man desire?

    Very nice - Pandi

Life is too short - I always want the best for others.

Thanks for reminding all of us, not to be so self...ish :D

  • yeah I believe all real feelings soon die unless shared with...felt for others...

if it's about nothin but ourselves we'll soon rot

these are things to never forget and you remember them in style... Pandora : )
  • Well stated Pandi!

I think too many times people are just so negative and don't want anything positive happening to the people around them... They can't be happy or gracious or kind or giving. It's really a soul-sucking lifestyle that affects too much of society.

You can only try so long before changes have to be made to remove the parasites from you daily life, remove the suffocation and smog. Remove the ignorant blindfold. Open the heart and soul.

    Thank you for this. :)
