Over 2 hours before the first set even ended tonight, and Neil was rockin super hard all night. He sounded better than ever. His voice was pure and the band was tight. Death Cab did a great job opening too.
The coolest thing ever happend to me earlier this year. I saw Neil in a smal venue with 2000 seats late february this year. There was no fence stopping me from touching the things up on the 2-feet high stage so I placed out some balloons on the stage saying:
Please play F*!#In' Up
//Fredrik, Sweden
The security saw them and picked them up and took them backstage.
He hadnt played it on the tour yet so I thought it wasnt going to happen. And it didnt. But the next show in line it did, and during the tour it came back several times. In august the first show show in Sweden of the tour was about to take place and I wished he would remember my request earlier that year. And I think he did because a few songs into the set he waited a few seconds and then he called out for his guitar tech to tune the guitar down. And that doesnt happen unless theres a quick change in the setlist. I was on the second row and I knew that Fuckin Up is played in drop D tuning so I yelled out "F*!#In' Up". And a second later the first notes was played. FUCKING AMAZING!
his set list is awesome. it sucks that its almost identical every night, but it still looks awesome. how does his version of a day in the life sound? i have been wondering that for a while.
I was lucky enough to see Neil at a benefit show in 92, I think, in Arizona. Small outdoor venue, we were front row. Neil walks out, bottle of Bud in hand, sets it on the organ, and proceeds to kick everybody's ass! I was blown away! Neil is the man!
