here in new jersey and new york the cable company and fox are bickering over money meanwhile fox pulled there stations and we cant watch the giants games on fox or the NLCS...and if they don't work it out soon the world series might not be viewable if you have cablevision...WTF! Wanted to know if anyone else is as pissed about this as i am. All i know is i pay my bill and want my sports!

also just checked fox has pulled all there stations except fox news is still on....guess the right wing doesn't want there propaganda machine unplugged this close to election time....what other reason would there be to not pull just fox news......discuss

  • Same problem.
Fortunately my inlaws live down the street and have directv so I've been watching the NLCS games there.
Its getting ridiculous with Cablevision though.

Don't wana be banned forever from these boards, or i would express myself on this subject.
  • this is the 3rd fuckin fight in less than a year. first it was food network/HGTV, then it was ABC (missed half the Oscars cause of it (not that that mattered to me)) and now Fox, right before the WS, i mean come the fuck on cablevision, you claim in your commercials that you offer coverage of all 9 NY sports teams (including NJ if you are trying to count) and if the Yanks are in the world series, your ads will be nothing but lies. bullshit and lies. are there any cablevision workers on this forum? we'll let you know that none of us care if your company is being charged too much, the fact of the matter is that we want our TV and to be satisfied, if you cablevision workers can't keep us happy with TV no matter what the cost, then you all fail at your job, thank you.

not that i watch fox (except for sports) but this goes for all future battles with other companies that i do care about.

That sucks about your cable problems, especially during the playoffs. This may be little consolation, but better than not being able to watch at all:

Click on the Live Sports tab at the top of the screen, then select baseball. It will provide a list of the feeds for all games currently on and you can just click on one and live stream it for free. You can do this for just about any sport world wide, by the way. Pretty cool site.

What is most infuriating about this whole thing that dolan pays more for MSG channels-the network his family owns-which is basically just a local sports channel-but wont pony up for one of the top rated networks in the country. Jimmy Dolan-ruined the knicks and is now ruining enjoyment of NFL football and the world series (not to mention I will be pissed if I miss hell's kitchen).

When will someone get rid of this man?

i feel your pain. fox pulled Fx and natgeo from dish. potential that fox could go away at the end of the month.

i'm more pissed with fox than with cablevision or dish. they are looking to get more money than any other network is getting, yet their programming pretty much sucks outside of sports.

My son is having trouble with Dish here in GA.
He is pissed! He lost good channels, his favorites for sports and nature.
I'm taping Dog Whisperer for him and he's coming here to watch it,
blessing in disguise for me ;)
I asked if they lowered his bill, he said no, they gave him coupons for free pay per view.
Dumb it should be money in the customers pocket.
He's switching if they don't get their $#*! together soon.

    Speaking of $#*!
I love that new show of Shatner's, his karaoke last night was great
'I'm too sexy for my shirt'!
and he shakes his little tush on the dance floor. And got lucky!
    I love him!

  • It amazes me how any cable subscriber can take the networks' side. The networks want more money from Cablevision. Cablevision will evenutally give it to them - the only question is how much. Now do you think Cablevision will suck up the extra programming costs? Hell no. Our cable bills will just go up.

    That is incorrect.

Im not taking the network's side, just saying the MSG deal reeks of self-dealing-if he was paying market price for MSG, perhaps he could pay market price for fox and our bills wouldn't go up (not that I know what market price for either would be). Fox is using the MSG fee as leverage for its demands-after all, more people watch Fox. Another shady deal by Dolan that is sticking it to the fans.

I have cablevision and don't currently get these channels as a result. It's really just greed by both sides and the end product is the people at home get screwed by either loss of service or increases to costs for service. Also, the more often these things happen, the more they become common place and tolerated which only makes it worse for all involved.

Versus and Direct TV squared off last year and in result I could not watch hockey games for the entire season. At least the NY Fox / Cablevision will probably be resolved soon. No one cares about a channel like VS. that shows hockey and bull riding so the showdown lasted until the playoffs (and I ended up cancelling Direct TV a month beforehand).

All cable companies suck. They all play this game.

The best thing is to not get too attached to the TV.

Wrong. Fox also had Hulu block Cablevision IP's from accessing Fox programming for a while this past weekend.

if you have an hd tv, go get a digital antenna for 20, all major networks broadcast over the air signals and they are available in HD. It actually seems like better picture quality too.

hate these stupid pissing matches every few years over channels. I don't understand the business at all.

because everybody needs to grow revenue and profit and the consumer gets caught in the middle.

we really should have ala cart programming.

and while we are at it, and i'm looking at your dish network, do i really need 20 shopping channels?

the yes network/cablevision dispute lasted a whole year so don't be so positive that this dispute will get done quickly
