The Farming Game, Clue, & Risk.

The Farming Game is kinda like Monopoly, only it stays fun throughout the game. Instead of buying properties and paying rent, you land on seasonal harvests and rely on luck of the dice for your harvests. You can buy additional acreage of hay, grain, and fruit trees as well as cattle to increase your cash flow. It's a good time!

My family likes to play board games when we all get together. We've found that all of the games we've tried from the Days of Wonder company (same company that makes Ticket to Ride) are pretty fun.

In addition to those I like Trivial Pursuit, chess, and Monopoly.

I just have the standard version that goes through the U.S. Do the other versions offer a better experience?

RISK is the most fun from a gaming/competitive standpoint....
But nothing beats Cranium for a fun night with friends :)

Oh wait...should I have said 'the word game'? or the 'make up a word game'? or the 'make a sentence out of a five letter word' game? or the 'username' game? or the 'this or that' game? or or or.....
    Sorry, but I don't play the post-count-padding-extreme-boredom 'board' games, so I don't have a fav ;)

My wife and I have the standard U.S. version and the Marklin (Germany) edition. I've also played the European edition, which adds the ability to use train depots to use a route claimed by another player. It also has some harder routes in that some require a locomotive. Marklin has passengers instead of train depots. The passengers add points by travelling from a start city to an end city. Each edition adds a different strategic element and is a little more complex than the U.S. version. My personal favorite is the European edition although I play the U.S. version the most since my wife doesn't like Marklin all that much.
