RC Helicopters? Help?

Someone gave my brother a small RC Helicopter as a gift, that he never uses. But I often catch my boyfriend stealing it and playing with it when no one is looking...

So I was thinking of getting him one for Christmas this year, but have NO clue what to buy...
Anybody into this stuff? Know anything?
I've heard 4 channel is better than 3 channel, whatever that means...

    there are a ton of options out there now.

    channels refer to the number of things you can control with the remote.

    ie, channel 1 would control the the throttle
    channel 2 could control the pitch of the main rotor
    channel 3 could control the rear rotor
    channel 4 would control something else

    gas or electric

    size of helicopter

    size of motor.


    they can be cheap, 25 bucks for a cheap one, or hundreds of dollars for a higher end one.

    recently saw a commerical on TV , they have a mni heli with a built in video camera.

    seems kinda cool , i guess.
