My house is in the section in the upper right corner, 1500 feet from the runway... and the boat is at the marina right in the middle of the photo. That photo was taken before our marina expansion or the construction of the new town pier, so there are way more boats now.
    That water tower stands out.

I don't remember that! It would have been cool, and as you know appropriate.

More recently, maybe 15 years ago, there was talk of painting it pale blue, solid pale blue and people were up in arms about it because it would look so industrial. Because a gigantic metal water tower can be so pretty...

Nice Poncier! I see your new hometown has MULTIPLE July 3 bonfires _ but do they have July 4 fireworks that routinely end up in large brushfires?:o

I think it would have been when we were early teemagers, 12-13 yrs old range, they offered to pay the town to paint it like a Bud can, which would have been great advertising aimed at all the incoming flights to Logan, but it got voted down.

Yeah that pic doesn't do it justice, thats just the beginning of the night, the beach is end to end bonfires and fireworks. The other end of town had an explosion this year on the beach that made the news.

Not only does your July 4 fireworks that set the marshes ablaze, but do you remember (again when we were kids) the year Santa's sleigh burned down?

For the rest of you: unlost and I grew up in the same town, and annually Santa goes around town on Christmas Eve riding in his sleigh on a firetruck...one year the sleigh caught fire before his ride and burnt to a crisp...the irony that the sleigh burns down on top of a firetruck.

And now, dear Poncier, I am going to blow your mind: For the past 20 or so years, Mr. Unlost has played the role of Santa in that Christmas Eve tradition.
