as 4 all you folks mesmorized by the thought of a guitar by our local heroboy....
you are soo totally missing the point of the auction....

    Maybe if the MILLIONAIRE owners of Cha Cha/Kings/Bimbos/etc would pony up for even basic health care we wouldn't need a benefit for the wonderful and amazing Kim. There are people in their 30s/40s who have worked at these places for YEARS with no form of health insurance, while the owners literally drive Mercedes SUVs. I understand you can't be giving health insurance to every 20 something young whippersnapper who works there for a year or two, but when you have veteran employees well into their thirties scraping by with tips and 8 bucks an hour, you should have the fucking decency to acknowledge their commitment to your business and buy them some goddamned medicine.

    The owners have also discouraged new fathers from working overtime to support their families because they don't want to pay time and a half.

    I can understand why you'd be angry at an employer withholding health care, but why are you attacking the people who are interested in the auction? Isn't that meant to raise money to help?

    I understand what J-Bird is talking about..and I agree. If you were one of the lucky ones who dealt with Kim as a bartender at the Cha Cha, you would understand too...this is about a real person.

    damm weird but no way in hell can i afford the guitar but i'm lucky to have health care thru my job ...maybe they should of also started a donation fund for kim so the people who won't be bidding on this item can at least give something for the cause ...
