Great job, "Team Lost Dogs" in the Humane Society's Walk for the Animals!!

To continue to support abandoned animals, please go to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clic ... s?siteId=3
and vote for the shelter you support. You do not need to donate money here, just to vote.
Eighty-three (83) grants will be awarded for a total of $100,000 to eligible Petfinder.com members. Final prizes will go to the eligible Petfinder.com organization with the highest accumulative votes for the duration of the Challenge as specified in the rules.

If you do not have any particular shelter/rescue group to support, or your supporing shelter/groups are well equipped (although nothing is enough in animal rescue), please consider voting for a shelter/group that saves animals from rural pounds, where gas chambers and heart stick are still popular methods to kill animals.

Some of us have been supporting "Animal Aid for Vermilion Area" in Lousiana, who has been the instrument to save dogs/cats from the local municipal pound which does not adopt out animals, and send the animals to the brandnew gas chamber in 4 days of arrival. The reason is because the pound is basically for rabies control.
Because of it, 501(c)3 organizations out-of-state who would "adop" animals from the pound have to board the animals for 2 weeks before transporting them out of state. And the AAVA is the important instument for the entire process.
But the boarding and vetting are not free. With money, they can make it cheaper for out-of-state rescue groups to take animals out of the pound.
So if you do not have any particular shelter/group to support, please consider AAVA and other rural area rescue groups/shelters.

you can vote once a day.

And please no hate calls/emails to the pound. It will only make it difficult for aniamls...

Thank you!
