This Iron Maiden movie

I'm watching a movie about Iron Maiden's world tour with my son. It's kind of amazing. The lead singer is flying an enormous jet around the world.
He's singing on the tour and he's the pilot of the plane.
The band is traveling with everyone and everything in one 757-- the whole crew, the set, the equipment, the band, and their families!! They keep showing the view from the cockpit. It's so beautiful!
Then they land all over and play in front of these huge, huge wild audiences.
It's an interesting movie.

They didn't mention it in the movie, I don't think, but they did a fan competition to name the plane: thus the name Ed Force One! (Eddie is their mascot that graces all of their merch/albums/singles and stage shows).
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
By the time they got to Europe, they were doing huge stadiums (I saw them at a stadium in Oslo, Norway-it was like my 8th Maiden show) and though Bruce was still doing some flying, they had the massive Eddie to contend with, too.
Every tour they do "Bruce Air" flights, through their own travel company. You get return flights on Ed Force One, you concert ticket (including early entry), transfers to and from the gig and hotel and your accommodation if it's a staying over gig-a lot of them Bruce flies everyone back to Gatwick straight after the show.Bruce and whichever of the band are on the flight usually circulate and sign everybody's shit and has a drink with you and all. I always wanted to do it, but it's expensive. .
I like how they moved the seats to give the road crew all extra leg room, too. And DVD's players. Maiden are a bit like PJ-they keep their crew close, and pay them retention fees when they're off the road. Steve Harris has had the same bass tech since the '70's, before the 1st album came out, even. They really look after the crew, and you can see this on the DVD. Everybody seems happy and content. And the job gets done. It must be nice to work for a band like that. A lot of bigger acts treat their road crew like shit.
