I need a new phone!

Anyone recommend a new phone? I broke mine today. I dropped it on the floor and the screen cracked. I had a Sprint Instinct. My contract is up in another month. I was thinking if getting an iphone 3gs. Heard the 4g has problems. Or should I just upgrade to another Sprint phone? :problem:

    There is no doudt. iPhone 4 of course...I think for the 3gs the contract is more expensive,then iPhone 4.
    I know some people with iPhone 4 and they have no problems with the connection.

    I have the 3Gs, my husband as the iphone 4, and we both love our phones. We don't just use them for phones though. For me its like a mini computer - I travel sometimes with just the phone, and it handles everything I need to do like searching, getting a hotel room, email...

    if no, than i would get a cheapie ebay wonder phone to tide you over until your new carrier has 4g phones for consumption. i wouldn't touch a 3g phone today unless you live in a city that doesn't have 4g and isn't getting it for a couple of years. in that case, a 3g phone would be fine. being that your city is a few miles from downtown philly, there is a good chance that you either have 4g in your hood now, or will be getting it soon.

    i'm not sure where or what you are hearing about 4g problems. i've been running the EVO since July 1st with it on a 4g network the entire time. there was one a couple of days in mid july when htey were working on the network and took it down. other than that it's been perfect.

    That's one problem I'm having, i'm not sure if I want to stay with Sprint. I have a good plan, but the Instinct there was a few stuff I didn't like about it, the apps a i didn't care for. So the EVO is good?

    I love my EVO. The only downside is the so so battery life. it will get you thru the day, so long as you don't abuse it. but if you are smart about it, it's not an issue. if you sit and play a game it can be dead in two hours, surfing the net, 4 hours, streaming pj radio you can get one concert in. if you are out and about, checking texts, phoneing a friend, surfing little, it's not an issue. BUT, you are going to have that issue with just about any of the new super phones that are out. I always say, like somebody up there did, it's like havinga mini computer in your pocket.

    If you are staying with Sprint, they may let you do an early upgrade if you ask.

    If you are not happy with sprint, i would suggest that you go check out the other 3 big players and play with each companies phone and find one that is right for you. If you don't need a super phone (EVO, Droid X, Samsung Galaxy S line, and even the Iphone4), all the carriers have mid tier phones that still do basically everything they big boys do, but the processer isn't quite as fast, the camera isn't quite as good, the memory isn't as much.

    Personally, i still wouldn't buy a 3g phone today. If you want to switch carriers, wait until late that carrier has 4g running. Verizon is late this year, ATT is next. Tmobile is a little different, they are going 3g+, but it's still suppose to be fast.

    I've had the Epic 4g from Sprint for about a month now and love it. The best phone I ever had and like 81 said, it's like having a mini computer inyour pocket. There's nothing this phone can't do.

    i went with the iphone4. Was seriously thinking of just upgrading but just couldn't resist the iphone. Thanks for your help though guys :D
