I want to be able to listen to my iPod in my car but I don't have a tape deck so a tape adapter is out of the question. iTrips are too over priced and from what I hear don't work to well. Does anyone use something else thats reasonably priced and works well? Please let me know. Also my CD play wont eject the one cd thats in there. I hate the radio.

I use an FM transmitter to listen to podcasts from my ipod.... the sound quality is not great so I do not listen to music often on it, but it does work

install an after market HU. buy used if you need to save a few bucks

depending on your car, there are adapters that will intergrate into your stock stereo http://www.crutchfield.com/shopsearch/i ... pters.html but for the cost, you might as well go aftermarket head unit.

I have used the FM transmitter as well. A friend gave me a tip, turn up the volume half way on the ipod, and turn up your car radio louder, volume will kill the ipod battery pretty fast. My transmitter did keep blowing the 15 amp fuse in the car, so I switched to a 20 amp fuse...no issues.

iTrip? Can't we all just take mushrooms and acid like in the good old days?

  • i use the iCarPlay from monstercable.com. it charges my iPod, iPhone while transmitting my songs wirelessly to my radio via FM frequency.

maybe one more point to say, i detach my car antenna to get a better clearer sound.
  • I had an iTrip that worked pretty great for me for about 3-4 years, but just recently has started to crap out. Thinking about getting a direct connection to my radio...not sure how much that will cost me though..
