Unusual campaign going to pay weezer 10m to split

Not a fan of the band, but saw this on ultimate guitar today. People campaigning to pay weezer off to stop playing.

    Im a big weezer fan and agree that since the green album they have released alot of inferior albums, their latest isnt too bad , some of the red was alright, but make believe was crap. So bring back pinky Rivers.

    Not a fan of the band's recent output, but isn't it easier and a lot less assinine to show your dislike for something by not participating in it at all. Don't buy their CD's... don't go to their shows. Save yourself the $12 bucks this campaign proposes.

    The Red Album alright and Make Believe crap??


    I think people are more upset than the blatant popularity chasing and success of Make Believe than the actual music. In no way is it even close to the low quality of the last 2 albums.

    I love Weezer's (Pat's) response... for $20 Million, you'll get the 'Deluxe Break-Up'.
    ...
    Personally... I hope the group raises the $20 Million... give to Weezer... who uses the money to finance their next album and tour (and donates the remainder to 'MusicCares').
