the democrats took control of the legislative branch in '06 after campaigning on being against things like the war and warrantless wiretapping and yet they were basically nothing but a rubber stamp for bush passing virtually everything he wanted...all the war funding, even rewriting FISA to make the wiretapping legal! now both the legislative AND executive branch are controlled by the democrats and i'm supposed to believe nothing gets done because of a small minority of republicans???
so why couldn't the democrats be nearly as obstructive when bush was president??
perhaps because our political system is a complete scam and the point is to keep us polarized so nothing gets done?
i'm tired of hearing how things will be so horrible if the democrats lose control of the house! why is it they supposedly can get their agendas rammed through but the democrats can't? because they don't want to, anything else is lip service, playing their part in this fraud of a government

People do what it takes to get re-elected...all the democrats running for re-election right now aren't taking responsibility for the healthcare bill that was passed...because it was toxic and they more or less did ram it through. So the thing they should be trumpeting as a huge victory has many of them running scared from being associated with it.
It is the nature of career politics. We need to take the career out of it to have any hope of the people actually being represented.
The best thing for Democrats is to ask themselves what would Wellstone do, quit apologizing and watching polls and do what they think is right, it would help them in the long run.
