DVD - Region Codes (Unlock player)

I received a DVD-R from Europe (I'm in the States) an I'm unable to play it in any of my DVD players. I'm assuming it's because of the region codes. I've looked, but have been unable to find a code to unlock my player ( Sony DAV-FX500 ), does anybody know of a code for this? Is unlocking the DVD player the best option? Iis it the only option? Any help would be appreciated.

Checked videohelp.com and there's no region hack or code for this player.

Another option is take that DVD Pal DVDR and convert it to DVD NTSC DVDR.

If that doesn't help out, just play it on any standard DVD-ROM.

sony will not unlock.or they didnt when i was into homecinema...had to get a sony chipped :roll:
