  • Word from the Vikings executive offices has it that Favre's teammates pulled a joke on him by hiding his favorite pair of Wranglers and making him use a treasure hunt map to find them. He got frustrated that he couldn't find them and threw a hissy fit saying he quit. At that point, his Wranglers were returned to him and he cancelled the retirement conference.




    eh, bad joke I know, but it wouldn't surprise me if something like this actually happened :lol:

    And things like that are the problems of how sports reporting is done now. Instead of getting the story right, the rush is to get something first and then worry if it's true. I remember the same thing happening a few years ago when ESPN reported Eli Manning would miss a month and the story hit the wire citing ESPN. It turned out that Manning played every game and was the Super Bowl MVP.
