I know its from Eddie's solo album, but the song is a cover song. Plus the full band would really rock that song out especially the last 2 minutes.

I really want to hear it at MSG 2 but will they play it???

  • Here's hoping! It would kick-ass with the whole band!

I'd love to see Ed do SETTING FORTH too - that song still blows my mind!

For some reason I strongly doubt they'll do much if any Into The Wild. I can see Ed playing something from it in a preset or even do a brief solo encore after the first set like he did in 2003. but for the band to play them in the set? We never saw anything from the other band members many side projects get played so I doubt we will here. that being said, I agree with you guys that Hard Sun would be cool to hear live.

Setting Forth is one of my favorites, and my favorite is No Ceiling. The rest of Into the Wild is decent, but those are the 2 best songs, in my opinion.

I kind of think that Far Behind would be great with the full band treatment!!

    agreed.

I don't see why they wouldn't play this one live since they'll have the full band and that's what this song needs. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't, but I hope they do and I think they will.

Come on people......it's Pearl Jam, ANYTHING is possible

If you want an example of this being done before, how about Long Road. Originally Eddie solo on a soundtrack, then Pearl Jam adopted it and recorded it and played it live many many times.

Hard Sun is probably the only song from ITW I could see the whole band playing.

If there are any ITW songs that they'd play live, Hard Sun would be the one.

10000 times better use of encore space than tired old RITFW, BABA or Yellow Led better..

No that was originally from Merkin Ball, and recorded with Jeff, Jack, and Neil Young.

I say yes. I´d love to hear this song live.
The others, as pre-set? mmm....i say no..why? because in all the south american shows we got no pre-sets!! so play them in the normal set!!!
  • I doubt it. I know it's a cover, but I think Ed is going to make an effort not to have his solo stuff infiltrate a PJ setlist. I realize No More has been played at several shows, but I just think that there will be an effort to keep the ITW tracks separate from a proper PJ set. As someone here already mentioned, hey it's PJ, you never know. I do think these setlists for the upcoming tour will be as diverse as any tour before.

If they're going to play something from one of the side projects, I'd rather it be River of Deceit than Hard Sun.

I'd love to hear Hard Sun, or Long Nights....I was wondering if Ed didn't perform the latter on his solo tour cos it needs a fuller 'band' sound....here's hoping :)

Hmmm....not sure that i agree. Hard Sun is a crowd pleaser...it was great during the solo shows with Liam and EJ...i for one would love to see Pearl Jam cover it. I could definitely see it being a staple during the first encore.

But i do kind of agree with you regarding the original solo material. That will probably be saved for pre-sets.
