It's supposed to be 90 minutes of acoustic stuff and then 90 minutes of electric.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

  • From what I've understood most of the shows are "An evening with..." which is where you get the hour and a half sets electric and acoustic. I think they play more than two hours or so every show though.
I'm seeing them next week and I don't think I'm getting An Evening With...
    Enjoy!
I checked out KoL, Black Keys and The Whigs in Birmingham last night. Good stuff. The Keys ripped it
    Carry on

  • Damn, this was such a great show! I happened to enjoy the acoustic set moreso than the second half. And unfortunately we had to leave early cuz my wife wasnt feeling well. We left around 11pm (approaching 3 hours into their set if you include the 15 minute intermission) which was just after By Your Side. Damn, what a show! I'd recommend hitting up a show if they come your way :)

That means you left before the guitar solo in Been a Long Time... for shame, for shame. ;)

I saw them back in '92 and I remember them being amazing. Then I saw them do a free show in my (new) hometown, and they were pretty good, but that I could pass on seeing them again (maybe because I'm unfamiliar with their new stuff). But if they play that high of a ratio of Southern Harmony songs, then I'm in for the next gig in my town!
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

I've seen them twice. The first show in 2000 (ish) was great, but it was at a festival so they only played for 90 minutes. I wanted to see them again, so I went to see them at White River a few years ago, Chris was SO drunk, couldn't sing, or remember the words, would start a guitar solo, forget what he was playing then start a different guitar solo, it lasted for like 45 minutes. I don't even think he played a song in its entirety. I'd like to see them again, but have to wonder if he is going to give a decent performance.....

    I still love them though!

Since when did Chris play guitar solos? Are you sure we're still talkin' about the Crowes? I've seen them several times and never witnessed anything but a bunch of professional musicians tearing the roof off. Yes, their jams tend to wander all over, but that is by design.

he must be thinking of the Counting Crowes or something but I dont' think Adam Duritz plays guitar either.

Chris Robinson leaves the real guitar playing to Rich and Luther and those two don't fuck around. They aren't perfect but they rarely mess up. And Chris Robinson even if wasted which I'm sure he is to some extend every show rarely misses a line period. The only one he often gets a line mixed up on is bad luck blue eyes goodbye, he might flip the end of the first and second verse sometimes by mistake.

can you remember the date and the venue so someone can find this boot. I kinda wanna call bullshit on this its so hard to believe. We're not talking about Stone Temple Pilots here.

red mos - I wish I knew you were going. We could have met up. The Houston show rocked. I likes the set better than Austin, but the Austin crowd was better and the band seemed happier.

me too bro. It was a last minute decision. I was trapped at work till 5pm and I was contemplating spending the money cause my paycheck sucked. Didn't think I could do it, and then my Dad said he would pay for 1/2 the ticket... sold. I got on the bus, bought my ticket at 6:45pm, had dinner at Hard rock at 7 and then jumped in line to go inside at 8.

I am so bummed cuz I knew you had this show planned for months. Not sure if you saw my previous post in another thread, but we were supposed to see them in 2007. I got backstage cause a friend was working the show, the Crowes wouldn't even come out of the bus to say hi. No big deal though. We missed that show in ft worth cause my friend had to be at a 5am broadcast. With the crowes going on at 1130pm and us having to be at the golf event at 5am plus we were hammered. Cody (from cross canadian ragweed), had his mangement hook us up with a free case of beer after we were done. - lol.

yeah, the crowd seemed really mellow, and that's the lightest I've seen the floor. Seen the Toadies there like 4 times at this venue and it's usually packed to the rafters and crowd surfing and all that.

Sometimes they have seats on the floor though, it just depends on the show.

This show was bad ass man. I'll def see the Crowes again, though I know it will be a bit shorter next time.

Wish we could have met up man. Missed you at ACL 2009 too.
