"Falling Down"

I have just discovered Falling Down from Red Rocks 95. I am absolutely floored by this song. The music, the raw, incredible emotion in the words, it's absolutely perfect. It is hard not to get a little teary eyed when listening to it. It's the lost Pearl Jam gem.

Love it, but the other unreleased/improv tune "open road" also performed at a show in '95 is definitely better IMO.

love this song, was very disappointed (being selfish of course), that it wasn't included on Lost Dogs...maybe Lost Dogs II?

this song is amazing - the copy i have is a true grainy boot but i've loved it for years - it is however a cover song (This Boy?) - it was written by a an artist (can't remeber her name)and played on the radio a small bit back in '95 or so - it is actually a song about/mocking Ed and he kind of sang it in jest or disempower it although it turned out so well live and i never think of it as being an aweful song about him - apparently the artist eventually apologized to Ed and was embarassed upon meeting him a few years later...that is the story i read on this and it was a long time ago that i read about it - some details are fuzzy - whatever the case - i wish they would play it live. as well as "open road/improv" and "ship song" by nick cave - which could have been the best/most beautiful ever cover if they had finsihed the song at red rocks - i think stone kept going off in a different direction than Ed on that one - too bad - guys please try that one again on this tour.

The music for Fallen Down was later used in the song "Distress" by The Rockfords (a side band including Mike McCready playing guitar) inferring that Mike either wrote or co-wrote the music since it was used in his side project, however according to the Pearl Jam Rumor Pit #32, Ed wrote the music.

    Pearl Jam Rumor Pit
    Issue #32

It states that Ed wrote the song.
    It is called "Fallen"

Just like with Temple of the Dog with Footsteps. Music was written by Mike Mcready and 2 artists had interpetations of the music. Ed had Fallen, and I forget the chick on the Rockfords had hers.

Yeah, a bastardized version of it called Distress. I love Mr. McCready, but I don't like what he did here.
