I think it is amazing. It reminds at times on Binaural. One time I thought he is going to sing Of the Girl. ;)
It has a lot going on, soo good with headphones, and loud. Lots of noise.

Personally I like it a lot. I'm a huge NY fan and, while I don't love everything that he's done, I feel he's only released 2 bad albums ("Broken Arrow" and "Are You Passionate") since his "80s phase". Two bad albums in 22 years is hardly 'a long time since he released a decent album' in my opinion

IMO the album is okay. Not horrible. Just okay.

I think it's mindblowing sonically. His best since his records with Crazy Horse in the mid-90's.

Just watched the vid for Hitchhiker on youtube & I thought it was good. It works I think. The song & the vid. Very cool to hear him writing about current issues & it works, doesn't sound stupid a 60something man singing about amphetamine for example. JMHO of course. :) Are You Passionate didn't grab me. I bought it but have barely ever listened to it.

As other have pointed out, this is a very good headphones album. Being at work, I can't crank it to experience it without headphones, but I liked it on the first listen.

Yep agreed even after the first listen. Very glad he recorded a new version of Hitchiker, it fits with the album. As opposed to Ordinary People which sounded out of place on Chrome Dreams 2.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Yeah i went to a concert last night and driving home after dropping my friend off after midnight it sounded damn good with the windows down in the car up really loud.

I think most neil fans will appreciate it for what it adds to his catalogue.

  • like the new album
daniel lanois's finger prints are all over the record some suttle yet effective production from a canadian producing legend

as far as recent albums i thought prarie wind and livnig with war were both great albums especially living with war some great aggressive riffs on that album
  • Neil has made like a thousand albums so i suppose the whole basic song idea with 2 guitars drums and bass sounds a little boring to him. I liket this album a lot. a bit experimental but very cool that an old timer can still find ways to make himself new.

It does sound better through headphones. After multiple listens. I like this album alot. Trying to picture him playing a tour in places like Massey hall again.

I've always respected Neil for how he's always moving forward..no matter what it takes or no matter what happens.

He's had some dud albums, but people still love him, and still buy his new shit because he's not afraid to try what he wants to.

After just one cursory listen I can say in my opinion this is his best album since Greendale and miles above the hopeless fork in the road alubm, which in my opinion was unlistenable except for just singing a song. Also this album, while being very experimental production wise, is perhaps his more traditional album songwriting wise in a long time.
