I know most of you don't listen to metal. Anyways, Corey Taylor is the lead singer of Slipknot and Stonesour. Stonesour is one of my fave bands right now and their new album Audio Secrecy is off the charts. Anyways, I thought I would post this video. Corey is a very talented musician in my opinion. His vocal range is amazing as well as he can scream his lungs out night after night for Slipknot and Stonesour yet has a great singing voice as well. Check it out.

I just discovered his cover of Wicked Game a couple of weeks ago and it blew my mind. Does he play solo shows or are these songs on youtube from Stone Sour shows?

The black cover was during one of two solo shows he has done. So far it's only been 2 solo shows in Vegas. I've yet to see a Stonesour show so I don't know if he does a few songs solo during them or not. He definately has enough talent to have his own show. Check out Audio Secrecy. It's a phenomenal album.

That's a pretty good version, his voice really suits it.

(And he sings the "I'm surrounded by... some kids at play..." part the way Ed used to... :) )
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

  • Very good!
  • Good cover of black!

That acoustic version of snuff gave me chills though. Love that song.

  • everybody wants to cover the best song ever in the history of music...and this is a good one :)
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
  • you can tell he's actually listened to some live Pearl Jam as well.

That was reminiscent of Ed. Complete with the "We belong together" at the end.

Very nice and i wouldn't have guessed it
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Im kind of curious as to why as well.....

I think Black suits his personality better than say, The Fixer.....

As a side note - Corey has to be in the conversation for most powerful metal singer of all time. IOWA is just fucking brutal.....in the good way......and his stamina at Slipknot's live shows in the early days was insane.......

The man truly can go from one extreme to the other and everywhere in between. Here are two youtube video's that I think can explain what I mean.

    The extreme:

    The other end:

and hes funny as fuck... in that rollins way. i used to read his column in rocksound magazine, in fact after a couple of months his column was my reason for buying it(i no longer do) and without exception he was always spot on, whatever the subject was. hed make me laugh with his observations...

ever metal band has a slow song. my point was i can't see a metalhead actually listening to pearl jam. go to any local high school and find the metalheads and ask them what they feel bout pearl jam and i'm pretty sure they'd say sell out pop rock band.

I wouldn't really call Stone Sour a metal band, they have quite a few slower songs.
