I have not met any of them.

I would really like to meet Mr Vedder, just to thank him and let him know that his views/causes are heard loud and clear by me (I do agree with him politically).

Usually I take pride in seeing a celebrity and leaving them alone/allowing them to be a person. I never really engage in convo unless it would be something that would naturally happen.... never ask for an autograph, picture, etc... But the guys in pearl Jam it would be tough to ignore for me.

^^ Exactly man, the few celebrities I've met, mostly hockey players, I don't bother them for autographs, just a quick hello and if they want to talk more that's cool. The fact that Eddie initiated conversation with me was the really surreal part.

I as 30 feet away from him in Torino 06. I was waiting to get onto the touring bus, and he came out to chat and sign autographs. I had a blind eye and everyone else chatted him up for 10 mins or so.

    Still never let it go.

  • ive met him a few times. he was super friendly and nice

we stood outside an airport and chatted and smoked for a good 15 minutes or so. just about local perth stuff and music and things
he was super chilled and really funny
it was during the time when they were still anti media(ish)
then their was a crowd of people come and he got really fidgitty and edgy and someone with fancy photogrpahy equipment tried to take his photo and he walked off

but leading up to that... wooooooooo

he signed loads of me things
he remembered me the next day when camped outside prior to show and gave me a little wave
thought my head was going to explode

i always thought meeting them would be the most terrifying experience of my life. but he was just another normal dude with loads of interesting things to say

  • I used to see him out and about quite frequently several years ago (I think it was while he was single). He's pretty funny and really kind of a dork around people he knows...very endearing.

  • I met Ed before a show In Kansas City. At the time I was working for a Music Store in Iowa and got free tix from Island Records (Supergrass was opener) get to the show and was given Meet and Greet with Supergrass after their set.. Went to the dressing room with a group of about 10 people and after hanging out for about 20 minutes I notice Ed just chilling on the couch with a Heinekin (sp). Of course I start acting like I saw a ghost and couldnt make out a complete sentence. Luckily my bud introduced me as a long time fan and I would be honored to get a pic with him. Well one thing led to another and We sat and had a few beers and talked about the Ice Bowl show which I attended a few weeks earlier.. Very genuine man and seemed very down to earth. Plus I got a pretty cool pic with the man.
Damn writing this brought back some good memories

It was Bridge School 2003. He came up to soundboard with his girlfriend who was prego with their first. I was there w my prego girlfriend and CSNY started playing "teach your children well." I leaned over the rail and a little loud, said THANKS BROTHER. He was a little surprised and turned around with a furrowed brow and I had this goobernut smile on my face. His face softened and he turned and walked to the other side of his now wife. I wouldn't call it "meeting him", but nevertheless. Then there was the 1998 Tibetan freedom concert when I call Jeff, Mike for two days;) until I realized on the second day and said properly, Thanks Jeff, when he nodded at me and was like about time kid.....
If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one...
  • I met Ed on my 21st last year outside of Baltimore. I told him I flew from Boston just to see him solo and he seemed genuinely happy. I shook his hand and we had small talk but it pretty much made my life. He's a great guy..

  • This dude that works in a local record store saw my Pearl Jam shirt and ended up telling me stories about when he was on tour with the band back in 1993 working on the crew for them.

He told me Mike and Dave A. were the nicest guys andthat he jammed with them and smoked a lot of weed with them.

He had gotten all the guys in the band autographs on his "Go" single sleeve except Ed was the last one he had to get.

So towards the end of his run with the group, he sees Ed backstage pacing back and forth rather angrily and intense like with his head looking straight down towards the ground.

The dude's buddy on the crew encouraged him to go talk to him cause Ed is cool or whatever, so he musters the courage to ask for his autograph.

He approaches Ed and asks him, and Ed does like a complete 360 of intensity right there, instantly turning into a warm and inviting person and is glad to do it, writing not only his name, but an anarchy symbol and the phrase, "Ride the wave of pure existence." And they talked for 15 minutes, I think they talked about "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter In A Small Town" being written in the Bay Area and some other shit, I can't remember, this dude told me this story like 5 years ago.

I went back to that record store later on and he backed up his story with evidence. He showed me the "Go" single sleeve signed by all the members of the band as well as a black and white photo of Jeff writing "To Willy:" on it. Damn. He also burned me the 3 discs of the "Dissident" Atlanta '94 show.
