I think the staff in Indie has a serious PR problem now. You don't rip something from the hands of a paying fan. That is just wrong and if that had been me who caught the helmet, they would have had a serious physical fight on their hands. No way would I have given it up.

Don't they take the footballs back that go into the crowd at NFL games? I could be mistaken but I thought they did.

    i thought this as well.

This whole thing should be a nonstory if it wasnt for the announcers talking about it every 5 minutes. Did the fan honestly think he had a right to the helmet?

Jacobs should be suspended for a game though- someone could have gotten hurt
  • Truly a class act on a team of class acts. At least he didn't shoot himself with an unregistered gun.

That guy needs some elementary advice on handling guns... like not wearing sweat pants when packing for starters.

how the fuck do you shoot yourself? really? we had guns around when i was growing up, and if you followed a couple of basic rules, you won't get shot.

don't point it at anything you don't intend to shoot.
treat it as if it's loaded, even if it's not.
    rinse and repeat

thankfully, i live in chicago land, where up until this summer, handguns were outlawed. i would walk up and down 95th at night without fear of bieng shot.

Exactly, it really isn't that complicated. Probably why I laugh when I read about people accidently shooting themselves. Either that, or I'm a prick.

he didn't intentionally throw into the stands. and the fan in indy was being a baby about it. I would've given it back.
