Running Errands

A Moth On Fire (while running errands)

Jumping through a ring of fire
I run errands like moths flying downward
Gasoline poured across the tire
I am exhausted from running errands

The moth eventually hits the glass
What he doesn’t see in front of his face
He thinks that it is all right to pass
You’ve never seen a little moth’s face

I will not stop because I’m in a hurry
My car running on 87
Octane level stated so clearly
It still costs an arm and a leg

Oil prices rise, we’ll never win
A war being fought to keep us still
Driving in cars and running errands
I can’t be late for where I’m going

Arrive at destinations I always seek
I’m never satisfied with any result
Always on the run 8 days of the week
I decided to add one more to the scheme

A moth on fire I drive in my car
I fly through hoops to finish the job
I save up money to drink at the bar
But then I’m stuck calling a friend

To pick me up along with my things
Point Oh Eight on the Richter scale
I can no longer feel my extremities
That’s what happens when you drink

It’s not smart to drink beer and/or liquor
When errands eventually run your life
I have to return whatever to wherever
Or pick up things to take back home

Home sweet home, a home for a letter
Or a package full of shit I can care less about
I’m no worse now, nor am I better
My wings get tucked in my shirt

I forgot to extinguish the flame on my head
Caused from flying through rings
Vapors of gasoline asleep on my bed
A deadly combination for sure

My house is now gone because of the flames
All my shit is gone forever
My life is now over, no longer the same
Fuck! I have to run another errand
