I just had this turn up in the post a few days ago on vinyl, heard good reviews so being a huge RH fan I thought I'd pick it up.

I have to say a real gem of an album, assisted by Lisa Germano amongst others, Selway should grab himself some attention on the back of the folk tinged acoustic debut. A lovely selection of songs which have enough going on not to be your usual boring acoustic long player.

I admire allot of acoustic work but after a while I tune out, I saw Campbell & Lanegan last Friday at The Barbican for a terrific gig but it was supported by Willy Mason, I know allot of people really rate this guy but I was just waiting for Isobel and Mark to take the stage and when Lanegan went off to let Mason take the stage with Campbell to showcase the tracks they do on the new album I was just waiting for the gravel voice god to return. In my view Selway doesn't fall into the category and there is enough going on in the tracks although subtle to keep me interested it certainly bodes well for the long awaited follow up to In Rainbow's supposedly due before the end of the year.

Do check Familial out!
