Chills & Music

I just posted a Cocker song in another thread, doesn't matter how many times I hear it,
for over 25 years now,
I always get "chills"....
that is a weird phenomenon, straight on emotion to the body through what you hear
Love it!
Who does it for you? .....What voice/song gives you "chills" ?
And share the video too if you like

Betterman still does.
Low Road by Grace Potter is one of the more recent ones
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
My "chills"-inducing MMJ album is the little ep called "Acoustic Citsuoca".

"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Wow, that's an awesome song!
Even just the intro is great
A voice that gives me the chills especially this song.

Even though I don't like this band anymore this song still does it.

Chills just thinking about the part in Mother that goes "OOOOOOOh La.....Mother should I build a wall"
The one that comes to mind is Rush's "The Camera Eye" when Alex hits this certain note in the ending guitar solo. It NEVER fails to give me the chills, and the reason I bring it up now is that I just saw them the other night. I've been seeing them for 19 years, and never got to see that song (which is one of my all time favorites of any band). This tour they play Moving Pictures in its entirety to start the 2nd set, and that means TCE. Sure enough, I got full on chills (actually at multiple points in the song).

Another one that comes to mind: Phish's "Bathtub Gin" from 8/17/97. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of improv music ever. The jams just noodles along aimlessly for a few minutes, then hits a really cool groove for a few minutes when they switch over to a major chord jam which keeps building, and when they crest over apex of the jam and you hear the crowd go nuts they are swept up in the moment...it's just eerie how perfect it is. One of their finest moments w/o a doubt. If I ever need a song to get me out of a bad mood, this one does it. I used to play it a lot on my way home from my former job. By the time the jam ends, I am good to go.

Nice.
They get me all the time w/ the intro to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, the ending to Sheep, Most of Fearless, the power section coming out of the albatross creepy part of Echoes, and on and on.
God I love Floyd.
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
also, the very first note of the first (major) solo on Dogs...that big bend...for me, the best guitar note ever
this young man's voice......

all around me are familiar faces
worn out places
worn out faces
bright and early for the daily races
going no where
going no where
their tears are filling up their glasses
no expression
no expression
hide my head i wanna drown my sorrow
no tomorrow
no tomorrow
and i find i kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
the dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people run in circles its a very very
mad world
mad world
children waiting for the day they feel good
happy birthday
happy birthday
and i feel the way that every child should
sit and listen
sit and listen
went to school and i was very nervous
no one knew me
no one new me
hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
look right through me
look right through me
and i find i kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
the dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people run in circles its a very very
mad world
mad world
enlarging your world
mad world

Among many others of course, depending on what mood I'm in, whether or not I'm really focused on listening to the song etc.

I guess I could admit it...
It was Hall & Oates version of "You've lost that loving feeling", around the time of "Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you..."

and so many more
I've gotten chills at some PJ concerts particularly during Off He Goes, I relate in a variety of ways to that particular tune, so it just does it for some reason.
This video/song gave me chills first time I saw/heard it...

Mayfield Four 12/31 - the vocal performance is unbelievable, just wait til it gets to the 4:50 mark
The lyrics, meaning, and overall mood pertaining to the context is completely chilling.
Patterson Hood's explanation:
Set inside the plane after the engines shut down and everything went quiet. Just the sound of the wind over the wings and your own heartbeat. Again, Miss Kelly Hogan plays the part of Cassie.
The song is Patterson's lyric representation(and fictional recollection) of the moments before Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crashed. Cassie, being one of the back-up singers, and sister of then guitarist Steve Gaines. For those that don't know, Skynyrd's plane was en route from Greensville, South Carolina to Baton Rouge, Louisiana when one of the engines failed during the flight. The plane crashed in a swamp 5 miles north of Gillsburg, Mississippi. Lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines (Steve's older sister), assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray were all killed on impact.
Sorry, can't post a YouTube link from work. Go find the song...you won't regret it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNf5p2AEevQ nothing like seeing a ramone with pearl jam on the stage of msg, heaven to me
growing up i was a huge who fan and so when i saw this lineup i had to go. i mean pearl jam and the who what more could i want. the only thing i talked bout with the person i was with was the who and how much this meant to me. i didn't expect them to baba o'riley as the opening song seeing as how it's my fave song of all time. so when the lights got dark and i saw the green lazers going all over the arena and the keyboard intro started to play i just had these chills like i never had before. i truly believe it was fate that baba was the first song of the set and my fave comedian introduced them . it was classic pete and it was like zak was channeling the ghost of moony. i don't think i'll ever feel that kinda chill again. only full video i can find of the complete performance

again another chill moment i wont have again. one of the first boots i ever owned was 9-11-98 and i was just always struck by how the crowd was during release and thought damn wouldnt it be great to see it live . i totally didn't expect it at msg 2 08. i coulda left after the song and never seen pearl jam again. it felt like msg was church that moment.
