Beck to the Future

Anybody into Beck here? Ok, let’s talk about the fact that he keeps getting better! I mean honestly if someone said to me you can only have ‘00s Beck or ‘90s Beck, but not both…I think I’d go with the ‘00s Beck. All the lps are great. But 2002 – present is just as solid, if not better than his '90s output. (To me that’s quite different than the same scenario but with Pearl Jam: I would choose the ‘90s PJ over ‘00s PJ, no doubt about it. sorry)

But Beck. The man is a fuckin crazy-ass genius. I'm looking forward to what’s next..

it's the sole reason to own Guerolito 8-)
is that a version? or you just meant "song"..
  • Be sure to check out "Burro", the mariachi version of "Jack-ass". It was a B-side, but now available on the deluxe version of Odelay. It almost seemed like a good companion to Guero, which has always had a latin feel to me.
  • Love Beck

However, i still put Mutations, Odelay, Midnite Vultures and Sea Change at the top for him.

Guero and Modern Gulit ain't bad though. The Information.... :(

I'm so ready for a new original album
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
  • i want another "sea change" style album from him... definitely my favorite

but im sure whatever he does will be great

just dont tell him... his head is big enough already

Maybe this is going a bit too far, but I've always seen as a sort of modern day Bob Dylan.

nah, I'm just a nerd. obviously.
but what's interesting is I took a look, and on Guerlito it says "Clap Hands (Non-lp version)". now, that could either mean that it's non-lp because it's not originally on the guero lp...........................or it could mean that there's another version out there. ?? I dunno. so all this is to say, you did not misspeak. kinda :D

  • Beck is awesome. Is there more stuff to come? Somehow I thought he had disappeared and was just going to focus on being a crazy scientologist.

Someone once described Beck to me as "a chameleon genius" and I couldnt' agree more.

I love everything the has. All his albums are fucking fantastic, but I would have to say that Sea Change and Guero are my personal favorites... yet they're very different.
