Why do I collect

Just had my Hartford poster framed and was going to hang it and realized there isn't much wall space left. In fact no wall space. I'll face the sane dilema once my Austin poster gets here. But I ask why, my wife couldn't care less what's on the basement wall. I don't even think she looks. Never had one friend say "that's a cool poster" when they've been over.
It's not all PJ posters downstairs, sports stuff...beer signs around the bar... Anyone else just hang stuff for their own enjoyment?

I have a serious connection/obsession with Pearl Jam. I was 16 when 10 came out. However for me it's just the music. I don't have anything PJ related except the keychain. So as always it's to each his own.0

Maybe once your wife could not care less, you'll stop collecting.0 -

The "could care less" thing really gets to me - have to totally bite my tongue to not correct it all the time!
But yeah - I'm a collector too!http://www.wishlistfoundation.org

Thank god! I hear it wrong all the time; movies, tv, radio, in person.... When everyone says it incorrectly, it's more than an annoyance.
...but when you follow thru the logic of it...
If you could care less, then it has SOME priority, whereas if you couldn't care less, it has the lowest priority if caring.
I've also hear "I could give a shit". But by the same logic exercise, shouldn't it be "I couldn't give a shit"?ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

Fixed :-). Honestly, never gave it much thought, but does make sense. My pet peeve is the use of there, their and they're. Also, those who use then for than.
Now that grammar class is over, does anyone else collect stuff that others around you couldn't give two shits about? :-DI've met Rob

I have the same problem. All the stuff I get the most excited about (scoring my PJ Fargo 2003 poster, the Ten Super Deluxe, etc) falls on deaf ears when a friend comes over. Or when my wife sees it. Sometimes I feel like that geeky kid who brought in a telescope for show and tell and no one gives a shit.
I have SEVERAL posters of shows I've been to, all bands. No room for them all. I think I'm going to start whittling (sp?) down my collection so they're not all collecting dust in the basement. I also block-mount, which can get quite expensive.Gimli 1993
