People shouldn't throw things at concerts. If I were on stage, I wouldn't want people thinking I was some animal they could throw shit at.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

Dublin hasn't been in the UK since 1922, and the O2 doesn't hold outdoor festivals as it's an indoor concert venue.[/git]

my bad… I confused the band’s late arrival n all at the Reading/ Leeds fests with what happened in Dublin… I thought they got booed off at the fests …didn’t really read what’s said above, just been hearing about all this stuff and it pissed me off…I'm clearly reckless and suffer from a lack of attention to detail… apologies

I was there actually, and it was pretty horrendous. They came on an hour and 15 mins late, so can hardly complain about the audience being angry. Biggest waste of 70 euros of all time! Axl Rose is the worlds biggest toolbag.

  • yeah, you don't throw shit at people. STP was an hour late @ Seattle's Bumbershoot festival in 2008. No one booed or hurled bottles at them and they still played a full set while going just a bit past curfew.

I've never been a big Gn'R fan. I mean I have all the albums, and think some of the tracks are amazing. But there are many, many bands that I'd listen to before tehm.

Going to see them play live for the first time in Manchester in October. I say them, isn't it just Axl these days?!!
I gotta say I'm kind of hoping for some kind of high jinx from Axl !! It's part of the appeal, no?!!!

Part of the appeal? Some people rely on public transport to get back from gigs, playing til one in the morning would mean a lot of people would miss their trains or busses. So no that wouldn't appeal to me, having to leave a gig half way through because the dick-head lead singer can't get his arse onstage on time. It's arrogant and it's disrepecful to the people who have paid out to come and see you.

Personally I agree with you. But surely after all these years people know what to expect when they go and see Axl !!
I know when I go catch Gn'R October I run the risk of having Axl turn up late or walk off stage half way through.
Don't worry, I'm making contingency plans for this!!

But, like I said, I do agree with you. People have buses & trains to catch, and he should show some decency & respect to those fans who essentially made him (to quote Eddie) the 'rich mother fucker' he is !!!

Yeah I see where you are coming from - but it's that reason that I wouldn't ever bother going to see them. Besides, I got my fix of G'N'R earlier this summer seeing Slash with Myles Kennedy - they put on an incredible show.
