  • i think they limited every band to 1 song, which is rediculous, because that means the 100th "greatest" band still has a song on there haha

    well
that list does a pretty good job of capturing what you heard on the radio and on MTV in the 90s

I think "top" equates to the billboard charts and TRL play, not quality

PS - For a list that's going off of popularity, Aerosmith (a band that dominated mainstream rock in the early 90's) got snubbed.

Cryin, Amazing, Living on the Edge, Crazy, Eat the Rich, Blind Man, Walk on Water, and whatever the Armagedon song was called
  • growing up throughout the 90's being at a young age when music taste was pretty much dictated by what was popular, i could listen to all those songs (even Backstreet boys and *NSYNC) with complete nostalgia which would put a smile on my face, even though i know better now :)

like when i listen to lithium on XM, i love listening to even the crappiest of songs that are played on there just because it brings me back to my early to mid childhood.

Man, I miss the 90's and the way radio used to be. Although their are still tons of good bands out there, they may just not get as much exposure other than one or two songs.

What's funny is every song on the list I knew and was played religiously at some point weather you loved it or despised it. :D

I agree with mookeywrench 1997- 99 was alot weaker. Still great songs and bands with awesome potential but the bands all sounded the same especially with that nu metal and pop emo sound. I just found the majority of that sound boring as far as radio goes.
