Poster question.

Does the fact that the band played a better show at that venue decrease the value of a poster?
like for instance, MSG 08 was pretty rockin. posters for that show are sorta up there...not too high, but high enough to be considered high end. (at least in my eyes) i never went to the MSG 10 shows but from what i hear, they were even better than 08.
so do the 08 poster values take a hit as a result? i realize there are other factors as well like if a DVD was made of that concert. (so in my example, MSG 03 wouldn't take that big of a hit because of the DVD so those posters are still in higher demand) i'm asking because i'm interested in the MSG 08 I poster cause i regret not getting one that night at the show itself. i think they were valued around $75 prior to MSG 10 (i could be wrong)...i didn't know if the success and demand for MSG 10 lowered the price of the MSG 08.
and if anyone can help, i'm also interested in E. Rutherford 06 I...
MSG 08 I and E. Rutherford 06 I are two shows that i regret not getting posters for

The 22nd Oct 2003 Seattle Ames Bros poster isnt expensive at all, like 40 USD on the bay, but the Benaroya Hall vinyls go for 300-400 USD. So I dont think that the poster price has anything to do with if its a great set/gig or a dvd release.
Poster price is depending on if its GOOD or BAD art.-95, Stockholm (MirrorBall Tour)

The 22nd 2003 gig is on of PJ best ever gigs and the poster price is "only" 30-40 USD. That poster should go for 150-200 USD if the price was depending on the gig, and everyone who got Benny vinyl should have bought one to get the complete set.
and that poster is a KIZZ album copy too ....maybe thats why the price is so low....

I don't these two things really correlate all that much. Demand for the posters I'd say is dictated by their availability/print-run and how good the actual poster is more than anything else. I mean, look at how many of the posters sell out at the venue before PJ even takes the stage? Clearly those buyers are buying them for reasons other than "how good the show was" since it hasn't even happened yet. When it comes to NYC shows, I think that once it says "Madison Square Garden" on it more people want it. When a show gets talked about afterwards, more people will want it. This is why the '98s are so hard to find and expensive - the print runs were small, the creativity was high. Doesn't hurt that the tour was one of the band's best ever as well, and people who went to those shows REALLY want the poster from them but the demand far outweighs the supply because of how few were printed for those shows.
As a poster whore, I generally collect them for all of the shows I've been to. Out of those 28 shows, I currently am only missing 3 posters: Jones Beach '00 (3 shows; 1 poster), Camden#2 '06, and MSG#1 '08. It's taken me forever to collect them, as I only was able to get them AT the shows for probably 1/4 of them tops. I also buy them for shows I either 1) wished I went to/are "legendary" or 2) I just love the poster. These include things like Klausen's '05 Borgata, Spain/Portugal '06 & Vig '07; Ames Bros France '06, Lolla '07 & Katowice '07; Harry Rossit San Fran NYE '91, Ben Brown Perth '09, and Munk One Boston '10. All of those I own, none of them are shows I went to. I'd still love to get my hands on some more like Klausen's Hawaii '06 as well, where I couldn't tell you anything about the show (other than PJ opening for U2) but just love the print.
Lastly, I have framed versions of both Ames Bros 6/1/06 and Klausen's 6/3/06 (both mint condition - but drymounted - standard black frame) that I'm willing to offload. PM if interested...'98: 8/22

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-120 -

That one with all the tiny posters is a lithograph only."The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it"

Thanks...that's what I thought. I just picked one up off ebay and thought about it afterward. Only paid $30 and that's when I questioned myself. Still glad to have a poster from the yield tour. Never got one at the show in Columbia, MD.Pearl Jam
