    How did Denver win the division? San Diego had a better conference record. I thought that is how they determine the tie-breakers if the division records or the same since Denver, San Diego and San Diego each went 8-8 overall and 3-3 in the division. San Diego was 7-5 in the conference and Denver and Oakland went 6-6?

    Since they have the same division record it came down to who had the better record against common opponents, which Denver took.

    oh thought it was conference record then record against common opponents. but record against common opponents makes more sense.
