Wireless Internet problems!

I hope someone can help. I've been reading so much stuff about it but i'm not getting anywhere.

Basically, I had a wireless USB adaptor and was using the internet just fine. It was connecting to the router downstairs. But a couple of days ago I had to unplug everything because i was getting new furniture in my room. When i plugged everything back in, i couldn't connect anymore.

In my Network and Sharing Center, it says my wireless network connection is disabled, but when I click enable nothing happens. It just stays disabled.

I've tried a bunch of things that websites have told me but nothign is working. My computer just isn't finding any network connection at all.

Any suggestions?

    I'm using Vista.

It was working fine, then when I turned my computer on one day it wasn't working. I tried uninstalling the adaptor and reinstalling but no success. So i bought a new wireless adaptor and still no success.

I phoned Belkin this morning but they just said its a faulty adaptor so i should get a new one. but surely that can't be the problem? it was fine one day, and not working the next.

When I click 'manage network connections' it shows the wireless connection as 'disabled' so i right-click and enable but it just stays disabled.

I'm totally confused. Did some settings change when I unplugged my computer and plugged it back in?

    Well using Vista doesn't help.

Take the adapter to a friends house and use it on their network and see if it works. If so then its your pc/router settings.

I'd make sure that the device is actually showing up in Device Manager first. Are you having issues with any other USB device that you plug into a USB port? Have you tried any of the other free ports?

Are any other wireless devices in your house having trouble accessing the wireless router?

I was never a big fan of the USB wireless cards. I always preferred to use the ones that had a direct connection to the MoBo.
