Maybe if enough people pledged to quit smoking if Ed did, it might inspire and motivate him and them to quit and thus live healthier longer lives. maybe everyone would ultimately win.

this would probably only work if Ed wanted to quit anyway. otherwise it's a dumb idea.

(Note: i am aware that this is possibly not necessarily related to the music and is personalish, and Ed doesn't need the pressure of it, and people should just quit themselves if they want to. Just a stupid idea im throwing out there)

It's a nice thought but it's really none of our business if Ed smokes. Please don't think i'm having a go, it would be nice to think alot of us smokers would give up for our health but each of us needs to give up when we feel we are ready.
  • I agree. People should do as they please. It would be horrible to pressure somebody into something aswell.

It's just that, you know, you get these thoughts and you ain't got any pearl jam mates around, who ya gonna tell?

ha ha so true. i remember back in the good old thready massive synergy board back in 2000 thinking "we were but stones, your light made us stars" was an hilarious diss of stone, and a big up to his sister. shared it with the board. no one else would understand. but.. they didn't care either.

Sorry to say, but I don't think Ed giving up smoking would be enough of an inspiration to make me stop. Would like to stop, but I'm not in the right place to do it at the mo.

One advantage non smokers have over smokers:

1.) we save up & spend more money on Pearl Jam goodies then what smokers & alcoholics do!

    ;)

to be honest this is the worst idea since Dwight P Snafelzter said to President Kennedy one fine sunny day in Dallas ... "I've organised a car without a roof Mr President"
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
