Gorillaz Touring Line-up Help! Clash related

Okay. Not really a Gorillaz fan but... I've just read that Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash are touring with the Gorillaz. Seriously, Mick and Paul on stage together. Can anybody confirm wether or not Mick and Paul will be on tour with the Gorillaz in North America for all the dates, specifically Toronto. Any help would really be appreciated.

* Although on further reading that doesn't shed any light? I believe they are involved in some UK dates but don't know if that's new news or not? A lot of help I was! :?
Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12
Haha! That picture attached to the article was worth posting alone, I don't remember seeing that one before, and I'm a real Clash freak.
I've been all over the net looking for confirmation, and while I haven't found official confirmation it does seem that Mick and Paul are touring with the Gorillaz till the end of the year.
So the question is, How many of you Clash freaks and fans are going to fork up the cash for this one?

I've picked up tickets for the San Diego show, partly on the fact that Mick & Paul are touring with them. Plus Plastic Beach is a damn good album.
I like that they've decided to focus on it being a live show, and not hiding behind the visuals.

Mick is the most polite fella of all time!
It was very cool to see them onstage again, however, there is no mention whatsoever of The Clash, so don't expect anything from the past.

Yes, it looks like Mick and Paul are part of the touring band. Now I have to get tickets which are not cheap. I don't know how it is possible that I was not aware of this major happenning. I really wish I'd found out before tickets went on sale because I really would like to be on the floor.
Yes it is cool that the focus is on the live show. It would not be cool if Mick and Paul were behind screens the whole time. Anyways I'm definitely going to get tickets, but I might have to get them from a scalper. :x

Ya, I know there won't be any Clash played, but just seeing Mick and Paul on stage together will be surreal. I saw The Good The Bad And The Queen which Paul was part of, and there was no Clash but it was still great. I had tickets for Carbon Silicon (Mick's band), but was crushed when it was cancelled due to visa issues. The show was booked in a small club, so the chances of sharing a pint with Mick were very high.
Polite fella eh. Did you get to meet him?

Reminds me of when I saw Big Audio Dynamite at the Roxy, right when the first album came out. Definitely no mention of the Clash there either.

I met him backstage at Coachella when CS played in 2008. He was nice enough to pose for a photo with me and my fiance'. We also said hello to him at Coachella this year.
I remember those shows.....I saw them at the Whiskey on their first tour (they also played Florentine Gardens) and then at the Roxy a few years later.
Wow! So cool you took the opourtunity to meet Mick. I was lucky enough to see Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros 3 times, and all 3 times could have met Joe. Unfortunately I found myself thinking "what the hell am I going to say to him. I love you man, you're my hero." Anyways when Joe passed on I found myself full of regret for not jumping on those oppourtunities. Since then on I've said hello to all the childhood heroes I've been lucky enough to meet.

As long as I am not invading someone's privacy, I always try to say hello to artists that I have long admired.
Strummer was always very receptive to people coming up and talking to him. I have a poster from a 1981 Clash show, and I was lucky enough to get Joe to sign in at an instore in the early 2000s. I also got Mick to sign it at a CS gig a few years back. I brought the poster to Coachella this year, but the Gorrillaz "camp" backstage was hidden away so I wasn't able to get Paul to sign it.
B.A.D. was an average live band. Their stregnth was their songs, and the samples/beats they used.
Yeah, I'd agree. The strongest memory of the show is everyone in their orange jumpsuits. The first album was either just out, or soon to be released. There was a lot of questions at the time about whether he'd play ANY clash songs, and around the overall direction he was taking.

Mick and Paul are definitely on board for the tour:

They've also got a bunch of supporting artists at at least some of the shows: Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Bashy, Little Dragon, De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Roses Gabor, Bootie Brown, Kano
I'm glad that Bashy/Kano will be on the tour, White Flag is a current favorite. N.E.R.D. is the opener (who I'm not familiar with at all), but it seems to me like they could have had some of the bands that were going to support them during the show (like De La Soul) open up.

When I saw Carbon/Silicon Glen Matlock and Paul Cook joined them on stage for a few songs.
I sprung for front row seats as my fiance's birthday gift!

It is cool that Mick, Matlock and Jones have become quite the English gentlemen!
Rotten and Jones could learn a lesson from them!
Have they started yet? I thought they kicked off at the end of the week.
Lou Reed will be at the MSG show...
