I got this from Itunes today and i made it through the first 9 songs (10 total on the album) and it is more of the same which is probably good for the sword.

the vocals on the single Tres Brujas really threw me off. The vocal production is a bit different on this album but so far i've gotten used to it very quickly.

the guys still write the best black sabbath riffs tony iommi never thought of.

Only song i've heard that really rubbed me the wrong way was night city. I did not care for that much.

Otherwise pretty good stuff so far. :D

You can count on me my friend...love this band, seen them live and they kick ass.

I am in love with the album cover too...such a cool direction to take. These guys are one of the golden metal bands of the modern day.

However, I've yet to listen to the album, but how you've described it I'm interested. Touche on the comment about Iommi's riffs that he never thought of. :)

Ye good album, I don't remember how it ranked amongst the other two. I remember the 1st was much better than the second but I think Warp Riders was good uggh but don't remember ha.

Nice I knew a couple folks here were fans.

I think it is a little more classic rock and less metalish then the others but i'm okay with that. I like the riffs that are there.

Love the groove on Lawless Lands.

I personally thought gods of the earth was their best album and i still think it is better then this one but I'm far from disapointed in warp riders.

people were afraid that they were taking a different direction with this album. i disagree; it's definitely true the sword.

    anyone else digging chronomancer?
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
  • After having given it more listens, I really like the album. I like the new lyric direction - it's still close enough to the old stuff, but new imagery to keep it interesting. And it has a good overall sound. I don't know if any particular song has stuck out for me yet, like a "How heavy this axe" from the old stuff, but probably in time something will get latched onto my brain.

Saw them last night in Atlanta they played about 5 new songs (6 if you count hammer of heaven) all pretty good. A couple stood out.

Sounded closer to the Warp Riders sound than the Gods of the Earth/Age of Winters.

did a nice cover of ZZ Top's Cheap Sunglasses

closing with winter's wolves just reminded me though as much as i liked warp riders those songs were just not as good as some of the older high lights

i was giving their albums a spin the other day and i agree, although warp riders is great, it doesn't have that vintage feel that age of winters has.

Amazing album by an amazing band. I got to see them a few months ago open for Kyuss and they totally blew me away.

They're playing in SLC in December. Playing The Urban Lounge which is pretty much a small club that is just a big wide open room, complete with a bad ass painting of Karl Malone in the back of the room.

They are going to kill that fucking place and I cannot wait.
